| Taxi This option, which is easier to explain to taxi drivers, involves a pleasant 5-minute walk from the main street:For the taxi driver: “司机，我想去南锣鼓巷北口 (鼓楼东大街)”Take a taxi to Nan Luogu Xiang 南锣鼓巷 and Gulou Dong Dajie 鼓楼东大街 (the NORTH end of Nan Luogu Xiang). Walk south on Nan Luogu Xiang for several hundred meters. After passing NLGX Design store on your right, turn right at the next hutong (alley), which is Heizhima Hutong 黑芝麻胡同 (Between #51 and #53 on NLGX). On either corner you’ll see Wiggly Jiggly’s and a t-shirt shop called Navel. We are the first courtyard (through a large wooden door) on the right (#3). Once you are in the courtyard, make a left, then a right, then another right, and follow the path to the red door on the right. | Private Car These directions are good if you are coming by private car:They are slightly more complicated but get you right in front of our kitchen: Take Dongzhimen Nei Dajie 东直门内大街west towards the Drum Tower. At the intersection Jiaodaokou, turn left to go south on Jiaodaokou Nan Dajie 交道口南大街. At the third hutong, turn right onto Hou Yuan Ensi Hutong 后园恩思胡同. Proceed one long block until you get to the intersection of Nan Luogu Xiang 南锣鼓巷. Cross over to Heizhima Hutong. Our kitchen is on the right, in the courtyard just after the Wiggly Jiggly’s, at 3 Heizhima Hutong. We are the first courtyard (through a large wooden door) on the right (#3). Once you are in the courtyard, make a left, then a right, then another right, then a left, and we are the red door on the right. Take the ‘A’ exit, turning right as you walk out the entrance. Cross the road at the pedestrian traffic light, veer to the left and walk up and around the bottom of Nan Luo Gu Xiang Station 南锣鼓巷 (there is a lot of construction).
